another day in school.. another CIP day... today we had to visit the lederly home again.. this time to interact with the guys.. the uncles... guys being guys.. we crapped about the possiblility that we would proabably be left one corner while all the old uncle enjoy the company of the girls... hilarious and crazy how we would think like that... like all ahpehs are chee-ko-pehs(perverse uncles)...
i was assigned to one uncle who was called uncle lim... cant really remb his name.. lim ah peng i think.. haha..when i first wanted to push him down and i knew they had to have footrests on their wheelchairs when i realised that he didnt have any legs... the man was really inspirational.. he's a nice friendly guy who got abandoned by his 4 kids... he say that this is the place where they go to to wait for death... TRAGIC isnt it... i really understood deeply how they feel when no one comes to visit them... they suffer in loneliness... even though on the outside they look really happy playful and cheerful.. deep inside they long for someone kin to them to come and see them... come and lay concern on them.. uncle lim is a cheerful and nice uncle.. who stopped school when he was 12 cos his father didnt have money for him to study in Singapore...
then after doing some morning excercises with the patients in the garden... which we all got really high about... even the uncles on the seocnd floor dancing like no tomorow... really funny... everyone got high dancing and the uncles were really having a blast..
after morning excercise was playing ball games with the uncles and i realised that even though theyre uncles.. old on the exterior.. theyre really young at heart... and really fun to watch them play and interact with us... i think we tried our best to play with them... UNCLE LIM can be a proffesinal tennis player man... arms better than the pro body builders!.. haha
we then had a tour around the block followed by visiting of the 106 year old lady!... she's so strong.. can walk can talk and can drink.. as in really drink... we took a group photo with her and the teachers and the staff all showing the peace sign... the oldest ahma in ling kwang home... wow i cant imagine living till such an old age... really
bowling training was pretty bleh... rusty skills... havent had formal training for many weeks now.. and my bowling is as good as deproving.. but i got back to basics today and tried my best... averaging just past 100...
chloe and sherms open house went really well... congrats!.. haha..sory i couldnt be there.. but i advertised ok... NOW IM TIRED AND ACHING ALL OVER.. dont know why also.. maybe watching the new season of american idol made me cringe too much... the horrible singers were absolutely CMI and the great singers reminded me of a lot of star potential... =)oohh ohh and THANK YOU peiling for the gift.. =))
